"Palekh Russian Lacquer Box - The Tale of Tsar Saltan by A.S. Pushkin"
(some cracks in red paint) most lacquer boxes have that also some paint is peeled off on hinge not noticeable.
• The box is hand-painted.
• The scene is from "The Tale of Tsar Saltan."
• It is made in Palekh, a well-known village for lacquer miniatures.
This indicates that the scene depicted on the lacquer box is from "The Tale of Tsar Saltan," a famous Russian fairy tale written by Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin. The word "Palekh" refers to the village in Russia known for its traditional lacquer miniatures, suggesting that this box was made there.
