Burrow Hill is a former island site overlooking the mouth of the Butley River. In the light of excavations undertaken by Valerie Fenwick, and its proximity to Rendlesham, it can be regarded as a Wuffing site.

For further information and discussion, see Valerie Fenwick’s interim report, “Insula de Burgh: Excavations at Burrow Hill, Butley, Suffolk, 1978-81”, Anglo-Saxon Studies in Archaeology and History, 3 (1989), pp.35-54.
